The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeatedAl Ittihad (14-1) on the court of second ranked Al-Ula on Monday night. Visitors were edged by Al-Ula 87-84 . It ended at the same time the 14-game winning streak of Al Ittihad. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. 25 personal fouls committed by Al Ittihad helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-1987, college: NM State) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Thomas Wimbush (201-1993, college: Fairmont St., agency: Slash Sports) helped adding 19 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American point guard Keron DeShields (190-1992, college: Tennessee St., agency: Diamond Sports) with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists and Kenyan-Australian power forward Makur Maker (212-2000, college: Howard) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Al Ittihad's coach Slobodan Subotic tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Al-Ula (13-2) have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Newly promoted Al-Ula maintains second place behind leader Al Ittihad, which they share with Al Ahli. Al Ittihad at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost.
